When renovating a kitchen - big or small - there are many segments of the process that need attention. You want your work space to flow, look beautiful and function perfectly for your family. In this renovation we had the task of creating a space that would combine a dining area and a counter height island area for teenagers to snack and do homework while connecting with other family members.

The original kitchen was very closed in by a peninsula work area that contributed nothing to the space. The area was also cold in the winter months from the oversized windows.

Adding much needed storage, beverage fridge, slate tile heated floor and downsizing the table created a much cozier and functional space.

Before view illustrates how closed in the cabinets made the kitchen feel.

Reworking the layout allowed us to really focus on the space the owner required to enjoy cooking and entertaining. We used Cambria quartz counters in Berwyn. Love it!

The old ledge separating the kitchen from Great Room was removed as was decorative moulding. Ceilings in Great Room scraped and additional pot lighting installed.

By reinventing this kitchen we were able to provide a multifunctional space to accommodate a busy family. Wall ovens and counter depth fridge push appliances out of the way and create a pleasing sight line.

A classic kitchen that will withstand the test of time.
